Absolutely no doubt that this is my film of the year. Possibly of the decade (so far at least). The evil lurking just beyond the garden walls is frightening – which makes every ‘normal’ family encounter all the more terrifying. Unease from start to finish (as it should be) and a score which is unsettling in the extreme. This is why films about this period in history should continue be made, especially ones as outstanding as this. Currently available to stream in the US on Max, and in the UK on Prime Video.
1. The Zone of Interest (dir Jonathan Glazer)
