6. Glass
Another popcorn film that, based on its cast, will draw millions into theater seats: whether they leave satisfied or not. With a leading cast of Bruce Willis, Sarah Paulson, Samuel L. Jackson, and James McAvoy, this continuation of Shyamalan’s Split storyline should be able to stand out with other titles debuting around the same time. It will also offer a change in pace, given its darker tone compared to other family films coming out in 2019.
5. Judy
Based loosely on the play End of the Rainbow, which focuses on the last few months of Garland’s life and career, it will be interesting how Renee Zellweger will express the vulnerable side of Garland, rather than the boisterous side audiences are more familiar with.
4. Rocketman
Elton John biopic staring Taron Egerton; enough said. Although the film is at a risk for following on the successful tail of Bohemian Rhapsody, I am sure it will have its own individual zeal given John’s body of work (and his own unique journey to fame).
